After the lovely field trip to see Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, I had nothing to do but go to the library and ready petty things.
I found this in the newest issue of Seventeen, and was completely disappointed. This magazine is apparently supposed to be a good source for young girls to find ways to become confident, self-respecting young women. I was completely appalled by this message which seems to be expressive views that are seemingly ANCIENT.
If you like a guy, you don’t need to wait for him to ask you out, and it definitely is not your JOB.
SECONDLY, did they SERIOUSLY say that guys like the challenge of winning you over? Women, and especially young girls are not prizes to be won. This is absolutely garbage.
All of you might think that this isn’t such a big deal, but it is. It’s 2013, and we’re still telling girls to wait for the guys to ask them out so that they can win us.
